Oseni Rufai Challenges Conspiracy Theorists Over Allegations of USAID Funding Boko Haram
Nigerian journalist Oseni Rufai recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to challenge conspiracy theorists to seek clarity from Elon Musk about claims that USAID is funding Boko Haram. In his post, Rufai sarcastically wrote, “Probably the conspiracy theorist should ask Mr Musk their lord and savior to tell them how USAID is funding Bokoharam. We need to see the facts pls!”
Rufai’s remark comes amid allegations from U.S. Congressman Scott Perry suggesting that USAID funds may have been misused to support terrorist activities. By referencing Musk as “lord and savior,” Rufai pointed to the influence Musk holds over some conspiracy theorists, implying that if they trust Musk’s perspective, they should also expect him to provide evidence on such serious claims.
The post has sparked varied reactions, with some agreeing with Rufai’s call for transparency, while others question why Musk is being linked to the controversy.
