NLC Protesters Descend on National Assembly, Present State Demands

The protesters carried placards bearing messages like #End Poverty and Hunger, Support Local Industries; Fix Local Refineries, End Subsidy; #End Naira Devaluation; Tax the Rich, Subsidize the Poor.
Receiving the letter was the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Labour, Employment, and Productivity, Senator Diket Plang.
The letter among other things, demanded the full implementation of the welfare provisions, employment generation, immediate subsidy to farmers to boost agricultural production, and the fixing the four refineries among others.
Ajaero while making his remarks at the National Assembly, said the peaceful protest was necessary because of the hunger in the land.
Plang in his response said that the National Assembly would not waste time to deliberate over the demands of the protesters
