Governor Peter Mbah Responds to Alleged Police Killing of Popular Ogene Musician, Igbo-Jah
Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has requested a full investigation into the tragic death of well-known Ogene musician, Chikezie Mba, also known as Igbo-Jah.According to Sahara Reporters on Saturday, Mba, a celebrated figure in Igbo music, was allegedly shot by a police inspector at the Police Anti-cult Tactical Squad headquarters on Friday evening.
Mba, admired for his dedication to Igbo culture through his music, was reportedly visiting the Anti-cult Squad’s office when the incident occurred.Although details of the incident remain uncertain, the governor has swiftly called for a transparent investigation to uncover the facts surrounding the musician’s death.Governor Mbah conveyed his condolences and support to Mba’s family in a heartfelt social media post.
He stated, “I am deeply saddened by the untimely death of Okezie Mba, known as Igbo Jah, in such tragic circumstances. This is a great loss for the Igbo community and for Enugu State.”Acknowledging Mba’s role in promoting Igbo culture, Mbah noted that the musician’s influence extended well beyond Enugu, resonating with Igbo communities worldwide.
In light of the incident, Mbah declared, “I have been updated by the police and have directed a thorough investigation to ensure justice is delivered to him, his family, and his fans globally.”He assured the public that Enugu State is fully committed to ensuring that justice is served.
