DSS Arrests Blogger for Cloning Official Website and Spreading Fake Recruitment Notice

The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested a 32-year-old blogger, identified as Augustus, for cloning the agency’s official website and disseminating a fraudulent recruitment notice.
The suspect, a native of Akwa Ibom State, was apprehended on Thursday at his residence on Akpan Eno Lane in Abak. Augustus, a graduate of the University of Uyo and a content creator, allegedly created a replica of the DSS website to mislead Nigerians into believing that the agency was conducting a recruitment exercise.
According to a DSS source, “Augustus, a native of Abak Local Government Area, was tracked and arrested by our operatives at his residence. His actions were aimed at defrauding the public.”
The DSS promptly identified the fake recruitment notice and issued a public warning to prevent citizens from falling victim to the fraudulent scheme.
The suspect is expected to be arraigned in court soon to face charges related to the cloning of the website and his alleged intent to defraud the public.
