Boko Haram Terrorists Attack Adamawa Community, Destroy Buildings
Suspected Boko Haram terrorists attacked Kwapre and neighboring villages in Yadul District, Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State, on Tuesday evening, February 25.
The attack, which began around 7:30 p.m. and lasted into the early hours of Wednesday, resulted in the destruction of churches, schools, homes, and businesses. Valuables were also looted, leaving residents devastated.
Village heads, including Mr. Joel Kulaha of Kwapre and Abalis Jawaja of King, confirmed the assault, describing the attackers as ruthless. However, they noted that no lives were lost, as residents had fled after being forewarned.
“We escaped with our lives, but everything we own is gone,” Kulaha lamented.
Soldiers stationed in nearby Garaha town later responded, engaging the attackers and forcing them to retreat. However, their intervention came too late to prevent the widespread damage.
Kwapre and its neighboring villages have suffered repeated Boko Haram attacks since the insurgency began, with this latest incident marking at least the tenth assault on the community.
