“My Mother-in-Law Almost Slapped Me on My Wedding Day” – Omolara Akinbi Shares Emotional Story

Omolara Olaoluwa Akinbi recently opened up about a shocking moment that occurred on her wedding day, revealing that her mother-in-law nearly slapped her for arriving late to the ceremony.
In a heartfelt interview with Nollywood actress and producer Biola Adebayo Ent, Akinbi recounted the tense experience, explaining that heavy traffic on her route caused her delay. However, upon arriving at the venue, she was met with anger rather than concern from her in-laws.
“The groom’s family were there, there was a traffic jam on my route to the venue and no one cared to find out,” she said. “And by the time I got to the venue, I saw people holding my mother-in-law, they held her so she won’t slap me. Yes, on my wedding day.”
She added that the situation nearly escalated, but her bridesmaids were ready to defend her: “All the Aso Ebi ladies said ‘Sister Lara, we will remove our head tie and if this woman should touch you we will beat her and forget about the wedding.'”
Despite the drama, Akinbi said she kept her composure and chose not to retaliate because of the love she had for her husband: “She wanted to beat me on my own wedding day, I endured because I loved my husband.”
Her story has resonated with many online, sparking conversations about in-law relationships and the challenges some brides face even on their special day.
