J Martins – Why I stopped making music

Popular Nigerian musician, Martins Okechukwu Justice, a.k.a J. Martins who has been off the music scene for a long time said he quit to improve his knowledge.
“I stayed off music for a while because I had to upgrade my knowledge and some other aspects of my life”, he told The Punch.
“Music is not the only thing that makes me happy, neither is it the only knowledge I like to have.
“I had the opportunity to upgrade my knowledge and I had to give attention to it. That was why much was not seen of me on the music scene. However, I am back in full force.
He revealed that after the Covid-19 pandemic, he had to return to Nigeria and now he is ready to return to the music scene and collaborate with young artists.
“When the COVID-19 pandemic happened, I had to come back home. I am now ready to work with Nigerian artistes, especially the younger ones whom I like.
“Aside from music, I am also involved in agriculture, as well as being an activist (advocate) for good governance. There are other businesses I do too because I believe one is supposed to have multiple streams of income.”
Speaking in his most recent project, J. Martins said he worked alongside an Ivorian artists, Josey who speaks French. He said the music got a lot of good reviews and has been great.
Martins had his big break in the music industry back in 2008 with his hit track “cool temper.”
Afterward he became a household name, featuring P-Square in “E No Easy.”
He has collaborated with other A-list artists such as Timaya, Phyno, Ycee among others.
