Luis Díaz Reveals Potential Next Club Amid Liverpool Contract Uncertainty

Luis Díaz is reportedly interested in a move to Barcelona if his contract extension negotiations with Liverpool continue to face challenges, according to Spanish outlet Antena 2.
The Colombian forward has been a standout performer this season under Arne Slot, scoring nine goals and providing three assists in 22 matches across all competitions. His versatility has also seen him deployed as a central striker, further emphasizing his importance to Liverpool.
Although Díaz’s contract runs until June 2027, Liverpool’s ongoing focus on renewing deals for Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold has delayed progress on Díaz’s extension. Meanwhile, interest from Barcelona, as well as Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan, may pressure the Reds to act quickly.
While Díaz is not actively seeking a transfer, reports suggest he has a preference for Barcelona if he eventually leaves Merseyside. However, his current valuation of €80 million (£66m) and Barcelona’s financial struggles could complicate any potential move.
For now, Díaz remains committed to Liverpool, with the team performing exceptionally well this season, sitting atop the Premier League and Champions League standings while also reaching the Carabao Cup semi-finals.
Manager Arne Slot recently praised Díaz’s adaptability, noting his effectiveness both as a winger and a central striker, particularly with competition from Darwin Núñez and Diogo Jota.
With 33 goals and 16 assists in 120 appearances for Liverpool, Díaz will be hoping to cap off his strong season with silverware under Slot’s leadership.
