EPL: Liverpool’s Van Dijk, Alexander-Arnold, and Salah Open to Transfer Talks with Other Clubs
Liverpool stars Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold are now eligible to engage in transfer talks with other clubs as the January transfer window officially opens.
According to FIFA rules, players aged 23 or older with six months or less remaining on their contracts can negotiate with foreign clubs and sign pre-contract agreements, enabling them to join new teams after their current contracts expire.
The trio’s contracts with Liverpool are set to end on June 30, 2025, marking the conclusion of the 2024/2025 season.
Salah, who has drawn interest from Saudi Arabian clubs and Paris Saint-Germain, recently admitted that his future at Anfield remains uncertain, stating he is still “far away” from resolving the situation.
Van Dijk, Liverpool’s 33-year-old captain, rejected the club’s initial contract renewal offer. He revealed in November that discussions over a possible extension are ongoing.
Meanwhile, 26-year-old Alexander-Arnold has captured the attention of Real Madrid. Sources indicate that Liverpool recently turned down an approach from the Spanish club to secure the full-back’s services.
The futures of these key players remain a topic of speculation as Liverpool navigates this critical transfer window.
