Okpebholo Reinstates AAU Staff Dismissed Under Ex-Governor Obaseki’s Administration
The Edo State government has announced the immediate reinstatement of all staff of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, who were dismissed under the administration of former Governor Godwin Obaseki.
In a statement issued by the Secretary to the Government, Musa Umar Ikhilor, it was revealed that the staff had been unlawfully disengaged in March 2023 by the defunct Special Intervention Team (S.I.T.) during Obaseki’s tenure.
The affected employees, members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), were reportedly dismissed for demanding payment of their outstanding salaries and entitlements.
Ikhilor emphasized that the reinstatement reflects Governor Monday Okpebholo’s commitment to justice and the rule of law in governance.
