Gabam: No Government Has Been Insulted Like Jonathan’s
Shehu Gabam, the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), recently reflected on the intense criticism faced by the administration of former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan. Speaking in an interview on Arise News, Gabam highlighted the unprecedented level of scrutiny and public disapproval that Jonathan endured during his tenure.
“There is no government that has been bashed, abused, and insulted like the government of President Jonathan,” Gabam stated, underscoring the relentless criticism directed at the former president.
He emphasized how public opinion and political opposition combined to create a challenging atmosphere for Jonathan’s administration, with many questioning its policies and decisions.
In a poignant anecdote, Gabam recalled Jonathan’s own words during this tumultuous period.
“At the point, President Jonathan said that if they had taken him to the black market, nobody would buy him,” he noted, referencing the former president’s metaphorical depiction of how poorly he was perceived by critics at the time.
