Breaking: Nyesom Wike Hosts Suspended Rivers Assembly Members in UK [VIDEO]

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Monday, April 7, hosted members of the suspended Rivers State House of Assembly during their visit to the United Kingdom.

The lawmakers, currently in the UK for a Legislative Capacity Building Course, were treated to a dinner by the minister.

According to the minister’s spokesperson, Lere Olayinka, the dinner took place during their stay abroad, with Wike making the trip from Nigeria specifically to host the gathering. In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), Olayinka confirmed the minister’s movements.

“Yesterday, the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, hosted Rivers State House of Assembly members who are in the United Kingdom for Legislative Capacity Building, to a dinner,” Olayinka stated.

He added, “Wike left Nigeria on Sunday night after visiting his political friends and associates in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.”

The meeting is already drawing attention due to the political tensions in Rivers State, particularly surrounding the ongoing internal crisis within the state assembly.
