Suspect Shot and Killed After Crashing Truck into Texas Mall, Leaving at Least 5 Injured
A reports has revealed that a devastating incident unfolded at the Killeen Mall in Texas on Saturday, sending shockwaves through the community and leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Bryan Washko, a pickup truck driven by a yet-to-be-identified suspect plowed through the glass doors of a J.C. Penney store, injuring five people and ultimately resulting in the suspect’s death.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as nothing short of chaotic, with the driver “actively running people over” as he smashed through the entrance of the store. The injured victims, ranging in age from 6 to 75, were rushed to the hospital, where they received treatment for their injuries. A fifth person, who was also injured in the incident, self-transported to the hospital to receive medical attention.
The incident began when authorities noticed the suspect driving erratically and attempted to pull him over. However, instead of stopping, the driver evaded police and drove to the mall parking lot, where he intentionally smashed his car through the doors of the J.C. Penney store. Sergeant Washko confirmed that the suspect was killed in the incident, although the circumstances surrounding his death are still unclear.
