“Five Dead and Seven Injured in Crash on Enugu-Abakaliki Expressway”

Five people tragically lost their lives in a serious motor accident involving a mass transit bus at the G-Hostel area along the Abakaliki-Enugu expressway.According to reports from Blueprint, the commercial bus, which was fully loaded and traveling from the Enugu direction, was involved in a deadly incident that resulted in the deaths of five individuals.

Additionally, seven others were injured and are currently receiving treatment at the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital in Abakaliki.Mr. Joshua Ukandu, the Police Public Relations Officer in Ebonyi State, confirmed the accident, explaining that the bus crashed and caught fire after hitting an obstruction on the road late at night.

He noted that while the injured passengers are being treated, the bodies of the deceased have been taken to the mortuary. Sources indicate that the obstacle responsible for the fatal accident was left on the road due to ongoing repairs on some damaged sections of the Abakaliki-Enugu highway.
