BREAKING: Former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello Sentenced to Kuje Prison Until 2025

Court Orders Ex-Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello Remanded in Kuje Prison Over N110 Billion Fraud Case: A Federal Capital Territory High Court has ruled that former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello be remanded in Kuje correctional centre until January 29, 2025.
The decision follows the court’s rejection of Bello’s bail application, citing its premature filing before his court appearance or custody.
Bello, along with two co-defendants, faces allegations from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) involving N110 billion in money laundering. The charges include conspiracy, criminal breach of trust, and unlawful acquisition of properties worth millions in Abuja.
The trial has been adjourned to February 25, 2025, as Bello remains in detention since November 25.
