Ardo – The Very Day Buhari Was Declared President-Elect, He Stopped Seeing Me
A former ally of President Muhammadu Buhari and Adamawa State gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Umar Ardo, narrated his fallout with the outgoing president.
He stated that he had been instrumental in ensuring President Buhari’s victory in 2015; however, he was abandoned by the president.
Mr Ardo made the claims during an interview with Tribune Newspaper where he spoke about his struggles and the major role he played in creating alliance between the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).
The aggrieved politician said, “My idea was not simply how to get Buhari in, but also how to run the government in a form of an adviser to see that things are resolved. But the very day Buhari Was Declared President-elect, He Stopped Seeing Me.”
Alhaji Ardo further spoke about President Buhari’s performance, stating that he had expected the president to do better in terms of managing the crisis of insecurity in the Northeast.
