“I Called My Side Chick After a Fight With My Wife,” Brymo Opens Up on Infidelity
Nigerian singer-songwriter Olawale Ashimi, popularly known as Brymo, has opened up about a deeply personal moment of infidelity that followed a heated argument with his wife two years ago. In a revealing interview with TVC News, the “Ara” singer admitted to calling a side chick and spending the night with her in a guest house after an intense fight at home.
Brymo explained that after storming out following the disagreement, he checked into a guest house and waited, expecting his wife to join him for reconciliation. When she didn’t show up, he grew frustrated. “I was really pissed off, so I called a side chick,” he revealed during the interview.
The situation took an unexpected turn when, at around 3 or 4 a.m., his wife came to the guest house and knocked on his door. Knowing he wasn’t alone, Brymo said, “That’s why I didn’t open the door — there was someone there.”
Despite keeping the secret for two years, the truth eventually came to light during a reunion with close friends, including 2Face Idibia and his wife Annie. At the same guest house, Brymo’s wife directly confronted him with a pointed question: “Two years ago, on that particular day, was there a girl in your room or not?”
Faced with the moment of truth and unwilling to lie in front of others, Brymo confessed. “I had to confess because, at that point, if I had said there was nobody there, I would have been a liar in public,” he said.
The confession has sparked a wave of reactions online. Some have commended his honesty and vulnerability, while others have criticized the betrayal. Known for his bold views and artistic depth, Brymo’s latest admission adds another chapter to his often controversial public life.
His wife has yet to publicly respond to the revelation. Meanwhile, the public continues to debate the themes of trust, honesty, and emotional growth raised by the singer’s candid disclosure.
