Hotkeed
Moshood Adeola, professionally known as Hotkeed (formerly HotKid), is a Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter. He was born on January 13, 1999, in Lagos State, Nigeria, and was raised in the Ebute-Meta area of the city.
Hotkeed developed a passion for music at an early age and began singing and freestyling at the age of nine. Inspired by artists such as Patoranking, he spent his formative years refining his craft and building a reputation through freestyle performances and social media content. He attended King’s College, Lagos, where he balanced his education with his growing interest in music.
His breakthrough came in 2019 when he was discovered through his freestyle videos on Instagram and subsequently signed to Dr. Dolor Entertainment, the record label founded by music executive Dr. Dolor. Shortly after joining the label, he released his debut extended play, Honorable, a project that introduced his unique blend of Afropop, hip-hop, and indigenous Nigerian influences to a wider audience.
Hotkeed gained mainstream recognition with the success of Ozana, one of the standout tracks from the EP. The song received significant airplay and streaming success, helping establish him as one of Nigeria’s promising young artists. He further expanded his catalogue with songs such as Nobody, Obi, Otilo, and several other releases that showcased his versatility as both a vocalist and songwriter.
Known for seamlessly blending Afropop, hip-hop, and Apala-inspired sounds, Hotkeed has built a reputation for delivering relatable lyrics centered on everyday experiences, ambition, love, and perseverance. His distinctive vocal style and melodic approach have earned him a growing fan base within and beyond Nigeria.
Over the course of his career, he has collaborated with artists including Zinoleesky, Lil Frosh, Poco Lee, and other notable figures in the Nigerian music industry. As his sound continues to evolve, Hotkeed remains one of the emerging voices contributing to the new generation of Afrobeats and street-pop music.
