Shehu Sani Reacts: “Unfortunate to See Women Involved,” After Arrest of Two Female Bandits
Shehu Sani recently praised the arrest of two female bandits in Kaduna via his verified Twitter account, while raising concerns about the growing involvement of women in criminal activities.
He acknowledged the significance of the arrests but highlighted the disturbing trend of female participation in banditry.
In his words, “The arrest of two female bandits in Kaduna is commendable. But it’s unfortunate that women are also getting involved in banditry.”
In a related incident, troops from the 6 Brigade/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke carried out an operation in Taraba State, leading to the arrest of a woman named Markus Grace, who is believed to be an informant for kidnappers.
The troops also recovered an AK-47 rifle and a vehicle during the operation, further emphasizing the seriousness of the criminal activities in the region.
Grace reportedly admitted to being the girlfriend of a notorious kidnapper known as Chen, who has been terrorizing communities along the Wukari-Benue border. Her arrest followed the abduction of Malam Saidu in Ukum Local Government Area, which prompted the intelligence-led operation on September 6, 2024.
This incident highlights the ongoing difficulties law enforcement faces in addressing the threats of banditry and kidnapping in the region.
