Akwa Ibom Police Commissioner Ayilara Dies of prostate cancer

Reports indicate that Ayilara died early Thursday morning at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in Ikeja.

It is believed that he underwent surgery for prostate cancer on Wednesday, but sadly passed away just hours after the procedure.

In a statement, his family expressed their grief, saying, “We are deeply saddened to inform you that our beloved friend, brother, and family member, Commissioner of Police Waheed Ayilara, has passed away.”

A senior police officer in Akwa Ibom, who wished to remain anonymous as they were not authorized to speak on the matter, also confirmed Ayilara’s death.
