Lateef Adedimeji Reveals Wife Rejected His Proposal Due to His Religion
Nigerian actor Lateef Adedimeji has shared the unconventional story of how he proposed to his wife, actress Bimpe Oyebade-Adedimeji, in a recent interview on the With Chude Podcast.
Adedimeji revealed that he initially proposed over the phone, but Bimpe dismissed it as a joke. “I called her and told her I wanted to ask her something, then I told her I wanted to marry her. She was just joking, like, ‘What is doing this one? Get out! I can’t marry a Muslim; are you okay? My daddy won’t even hear that,’” he recounted.
Determined to win her over, Adedimeji later visited Bimpe’s father in her village during a festival. He assured her father of his intentions, promising to take good care of her. After receiving the father’s blessing, their relationship moved forward.
Adedimeji also clarified misconceptions about their relationship timeline, stating they dated for only two to three months before getting married. Despite the quick engagement, their love story has become an inspiring tale for many.
