“I Stopped Drinking Alcohol for 4 Days When I Was Told to Kiss an Actress in a Movie” – Ogboluke

Veteran Yoruba actor Saliu Gbolagade, popularly known as Ogboluke, has opened up about how alcohol affects his work and the surprising step he took to prepare for a particular movie role.
In an interview on Behind The Fame TV, shared on the channel’s official YouTube page, Ogboluke admitted that he consumes alcohol but emphasized that he does so purely for personal reasons—not to enhance his acting skills. However, he shared an instance where he chose to refrain from drinking to better handle a specific scene.
“I do take alcohol, but I don’t take it because I want to do better in movies, I only take it for my personal enjoyment,” he said.
The actor explained that his alcohol use doesn’t interfere with his performance, though he’s mindful of his health and sometimes abstains when necessary. One such occasion was when he was cast in a role that required him to kiss an actress.
“There are some days that I would decide not to take alcohol depending on my health status, and it doesn’t stop me from doing better in movies,” he explained. “I was given a movie role with a lady, and when I thought about it, I decided that it would be better for me not to take alcohol for some days. I stopped drinking alcohol for 4 days when I was told to kiss an actress in a movie.”
His decision, he implied, was based on wanting to be fully present and respectful during the intimate scene. The actor’s candid admission gives fans a glimpse into the kind of discipline and awareness that sometimes goes into preparing for roles in the film industry.
