Bello Turji: We Are Picking Everyone Close to Him, It’s Just A Matter of Time We’ll Get Him-CDS Musa

General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, has committed to capturing the notorious bandit leader, Bello Turji. He highlighted that it is only a matter of time before Turji is apprehended, noting that several of his commanders have already been killed and close associates arrested.

Musa made these remarks during an appearance on Channels Television’s 2024 Year-In-Review program. He indicated that Turji is aware of the ongoing pursuit and has been operating underground to evade capture. 

Recent operations have focused on targeting individuals close to Turji, leading to the elimination of his commanders and the detention of key supporters. Musa emphasized that capturing Turji is imminent. Additionally, he mentioned that more than 120,000 terrorists have surrendered in the North-East region.

According to Daily Post, Musa said,

“The update is that since he knows we’ve been after him, he has been operating underground and we are conducting operations.

What we have been doing, of recent, is that we are picking everybody close to him; all those giving him support in one way or the other, we have picked them, we have killed his commanders. It’s just a matter of time.”
