Reflecting on his administration’s achievements, Amajuoyi noted, “Since our inauguration on October 5, 2022, we have delivered on our promises to the traders of Alaba International Market. One major success was removing the touts and roadside traders, who were causing congestion and hindering access to the market.
This has significantly reduced traffic jams at the market’s entrance, attracting more customers.”He also highlighted the reconstruction of the International Market Association Electronics headquarters, turning it into a modern skyscraper suitable for hosting both government officials and international business figures.
In addition, the administration has improved market infrastructure, repairing damaged roads to ease the flow of goods and services, and providing six new boreholes while restoring old ones.
Addressing the persistent issue of flooding, Amajuoyi explained that the market used to lose hundreds of millions annually due to flood damage. However, the construction of a massive drainage system, approved by the Lagos State government, is underway and has already cost over N60 million.
