Olanrewaju Ogunmefun aka Vector
Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, professionally known as Vector (also called Vector Tha Viper), is a Nigerian rapper, songwriter, and performer born on August 7, 1985, in Lagos State, Nigeria. He hails from Ogun State and studied Philosophy at the University of Lagos, where his intellectual depth and lyrical style were refined.
Vector rose to prominence in the Nigerian hip-hop scene after signing with YSG Entertainment. He gained mainstream attention with his debut album State of Surprise (2010), which featured the hit single Kilode and established him as one of Nigeriaβs most technically skilled lyricists.
He went on to release several critically acclaimed projects including The Second Coming (2012), LafΓaji (2016), Vibes Before Teslim (2019), and Teslim: A Lover Boy PTSD (2022). Vectorβs music blends hip-hop, Afrobeats, soul, and spoken-word influences while addressing themes of love, social consciousness, self-reflection, and Nigerian realities.
Known for his sharp wordplay, storytelling ability, and commanding stage presence, Vector has collaborated with artists such as MI Abaga, Falz, 2Baba, Patoranking, Wande Coal, and Simi. He is also widely respected for his freestyle sessions, live band performances, and spoken-word artistry.
