John Ighodaro, known professionally as Johnny Drille, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, record producer, and sound engineer. He was born on July 5, 1990, in Edo State, Nigeria.
Johnny Drille first gained recognition in 2013 after participating in the sixth season of Project Fame West Africa. In 2015, he released a cover of Di’Ja’s song Aww, which caught the attention of Don Jazzy, leading to his signing with Mavin Records in 2017.
Known for his soulful voice, folk-inspired sound, and heartfelt songwriting, Johnny Drille has built a reputation as one of Nigeria’s most unique and genre-defying artists. His debut album, Before We Fall Asleep (2021), featured collaborations with artists such as Ayra Starr, Don Jazzy, Styl-Plus, and LadiPoe.
Beyond his singing career, Johnny Drille is also a skilled producer and sound engineer, often blending elements of folk, alternative rock, and Afropop to create a refreshing sound within the Nigerian music industry.
