John Ighodaro aka Johnny Drille
John Ighodaro, known professionally as Johnny Drille, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, record producer, and sound engineer. He was born on July 5, 1990, in Edo State, Nigeria.
Johnny Drille first gained recognition in 2013 after participating in the sixth season of Project Fame West Africa. In 2015, he released a cover of DiβJaβs song Aww, which caught the attention of Don Jazzy, leading to his signing with Mavin Records in 2017.
Known for his soulful voice, folk-inspired sound, and heartfelt songwriting, Johnny Drille has built a reputation as one of Nigeriaβs most unique and genre-defying artists. His debut album, Before We Fall Asleep (2021), featured collaborations with artists such as Ayra Starr, Don Jazzy, Styl-Plus, and LadiPoe.
