Michael Collins Ajereh aka Don Jazzy
Michael Collins Ajereh, professionally known as Don Jazzy, is a Nigerian record producer, singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur born on November 26, 1982, in Umuahia, Abia State, Nigeria. He hails from Delta State and studied Business Management at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.
Don Jazzy began his musical journey playing the bass guitar and drums in church before relocating to London, where he developed his production skills. In 2004, he co-founded Mo’ Hits Records with D’banj and quickly became a leading force in shaping Nigeria’s modern Afrobeats sound.
Following the dissolution of Mo’ Hits in 2012, Don Jazzy founded Mavin Records, home to artists like Tiwa Savage, Rema, Ayra Starr, Ladipoe, and Johnny Drille. Under his leadership, Mavin has become one of Africa’s most successful music labels.
Renowned for his signature production style, business acumen, and viral social media presence, Don Jazzy has produced countless hit records including Oliver Twist, Dorobucci, Adaobi, and Overdose.
He is celebrated not only for his music but also for mentoring and discovering new talents, making him a pillar of the Nigerian music industry.
