Chukwuka Ekweani, professionally known as CKay, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer born on July 16, 1995, in Kaduna, Nigeria. He is signed to Warner Music South Africa and Atlantic Records, with previous affiliations to Chocolate City.
CKay rose to global prominence with his 2019 single Love Nwantiti, which went viral on TikTok and became a global chart-topper across Europe, Asia, and America. The song earned him international acclaim and positioned him as a major force in Afrobeat and Afropop with a romantic and emo twist, often called “Emo-Afrobeats.”
He is known for other tracks like Emiliana, Felony, and Mmadu. CKay blends Afrobeat, pop, and soul, and is recognized for his artistic vulnerability and romantic lyrical themes.
