Ronaldo Declines Club World Cup Move, Commits to Extended Stay at Al-Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo has decided to remain with Al-Nassr, turning down an opportunity to participate in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup with another team. The 40-year-old Portuguese star, who recently secured the Saudi Pro League Golden Boot, has signed a new two-year contract extension, according to FootMercato.
Although Al-Nassr finished third in the league and failed to qualify for the AFC Champions League, Ronaldo chose loyalty over a potential transfer, despite reported interest from rivals Al-Hilal. This means he will miss the Club World Cup, where Al-Hilal is set to face Ronaldo’s former club, Real Madrid.
Ronaldo had fueled speculation about his future with a cryptic social media message saying, “This chapter is over,” following Al-Nassr’s season-ending loss to Al-Fateh. However, by signing the extension, he confirms his ongoing commitment to Saudi football’s growing prominence, aiming to help Al-Nassr return to winning ways next season.
