Former governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike of Rivers state recently issued a stern warning to individuals who undermine his significance after leaving office.

Wike cautioned that those who believe his privilege diminishes with the end of his governorship should exercise caution. He emphasized that the true measure of importance lies in an individual’s level of influence within their state and political party. Wike claimed that in his state, he continues to be highly regarded and respected, surpassing the treatment afforded to his predecessors.

Expressing his contentment with his tenure in office, the former governor proudly stated that he holds himself in high regard. He further expressed satisfaction with the unwavering support he received from his constituents during his time in power. In his words, “those people don’t know that what matters is someone’s level of influence in one’s state and party. In my state today, they see me as someone who is very important. The kind of honour they accord me has never been accorded to those in office before me.”
