Don’t buy phones for your children until they enter University – Pastor Ibiyeomie

Founder, Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie has warned parents not to buy phones for their children until they enter the university.
Ibiyeomie, during a sermon, said what he is saying might sound awkward, but said that is the right way to go.
“Don’t buy a phone for any child who has not gone to university. It may sound very awkward, I know you are too civilised but don’t do it.
“Let them use your own phone, it is your phone. Buy a landline line in your parlour, and let them use it. You are now buying an apple phone for a 12-year-old child, you say you are civilised, thank you,” he said.
He also frowned at parents buying skimpy dresses for their daughters, saying they should allow the skirts to go below their knees.
He added that parents must play a key role in the training of their children, lamenting a disturbing trend where parents were too busy to have time for the training of their children.
“Parents should teach their children sex education. Don’t let them learn from their peers. Parents should encourage discipline from home.
“Parents should not oppose disciplinary measures put in place by school authorities in order to cover their children.
Parents should be interested in the school work of their kids, open their notes and check.
“Tell your children, don’t ever sit on the laps of a man who is not your father. Parents of day students should take interest in where their children go after school hours and during weekends.
“Parents should pay attention to the friends that visit their kids at home. Parents should regulate the TV and internet use of their children,” Ibiyeomie advised.
