Blaqbonez Hails 2Face’s “African Queen” as Nigeria’s Greatest Love Song
Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has declared 2Face Idibia’s evergreen hit, African Queen, as the greatest love song ever produced in Nigeria.
Speaking in a recent podcast with fellow artiste Major AJ, Blaqbonez praised the timeless track, emphasizing that no other Nigerian love song matches its influence and longevity.
“There is no song like 2Face’s African Queen,” he stated. “The song is the greatest love song in Nigeria. It was the greatest song for decades.”
Originally released in 2004 as part of 2Face’s debut album, Face 2 Face, African Queen remains one of the most iconic love anthems in Nigerian music history. The song gained not only local acclaim but also international recognition. Its music video featured Annie Idibia, 2Face’s then-girlfriend and now wife, alongside actress Yvonne Jegede.
