Olayinka Accuses Fubara of Blocking Pro-Tinubu Activities in Rivers

Lere Olayinka has accused Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara of frustrating activities linked to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu despite publicly expressing support for the administration.
Olayinka made the allegation on Thursday in a post on his X account, following the inauguration of Local Government Area Ambassadors of the Renewed Hope Family in Port Harcourt. The event, aimed at promoting President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda at the grassroots level, drew participants from all 23 local government areas of Rivers State.
The inauguration was attended by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, and other political figures aligned with Wike. Governor Fubara, his deputy Edison Ehie, and other state officials were absent.
During the event, Wike said the Rivers State Government refused to allow the group to use the Yakubu Gowon Stadium. He warned that if a similar situation occurs in the future, they would “force” their way into the facility.
Reacting to the development, Olayinka criticised the governor, stating: “Fubara is singing ‘On Your Mandate We Shall Stand’ up and down. But he refused to let the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Rivers State that are mobilising grassroots support for President Tinubu’s re-election use the Yakubu Gowon Stadium today.”
The Rivers State Government has not responded to the allegations as of the time of this report.
