Wike Urges Edo Governor to Forgive Political Opponents, Focus on Governance
Abuja — Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has advised the newly elected governor of Edo State to move past political grievances and concentrate on leading the state effectively.
Speaking in a video published by Symfoni TV, Wike emphasized that the challenges faced during the campaign period are part of the political journey and should be accepted as such.
“Forget how you suffered. How you now suffer is part of life. You must pass through this process in life. Allow it. Move on for the sake of the state,” Wike said.
He urged the governor not to retaliate against those who may have caused him hardship, noting that power ultimately comes from God.
“Let them go. If it was his power, you would not be here. But God has told me, ‘You don’t have it. I give it to whom I want to give it to,’” he added.
Wike acknowledged the emotional toll of the experience but encouraged the governor to prioritize unity and development for the benefit of the people.
