2027: “If I Contest, I Will Win” — Oriyomi Hamzat Confident of Oyo Governorship Victory

Popular Ibadan broadcaster Oriyomi Hamzat has expressed strong confidence in his chances of becoming the next governor of Oyo State if he chooses to run in the 2027 elections.
During a recent live broadcast on his station, Agidigbo 88.7 FM, Hamzat addressed a caller who phoned in from abroad, cautioning him against entering the political race. The caller advised him not to overestimate his popularity, warning that public goodwill might not translate to actual votes—especially in an environment where money often influences electoral decisions.
“You are a good person and qualified, but the masses may not vote for you. Don’t let anyone deceive you,” the caller said.
In response, Hamzat firmly rejected the warning, making it clear that he is capable of making his own political choices and won’t be swayed by such discouragement.
“Don’t say they will not vote for me. You might even be the one that will push me to contest. I have my own brain. I don’t want to listen to any advice like this again,” he said.
Emphasizing his belief in himself and the support of the people, he boldly declared:
“If I contest, nothing will happen. I will contest, and I will win.”
Hamzat also challenged the idea that previous election outcomes should dictate the future, stressing that the decision ultimately lies with the people.
He concluded by affirming that any political move he makes will be based on thoughtful planning and conviction, not fear or outside influence.
