“If You Know Any Beggars in Your Family, We’ll Remove Them Starting Next Week – Nyesom Wike”
Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, announced plans to remove all beggars from the streets of Abuja.Wike expressed his embarrassment over the prevalence of beggars in the capital, noting that some individuals may not actually be beggars but rather criminals disguising themselves as such.
He emphasized that these individuals will not be permitted to remain on the streets. He stated, “If you have a sister or brother who begs on the street, starting next week, we will take them away. It’s disheartening that newcomers to the city are greeted by beggars on the roads.”
