Ekiti 2026: Ayo Fayose Assures Gov. Oyebanji, “I Don’t Mind the Criticism; I’m Here for You”
Ayodele Peter Fayose, the former Governor of Ekiti State, has expressed his support for the current Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, as they approach the 2026 gubernatorial election in Ekiti State.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Ekiti State Governor, Olayinka Oyebode, announced that Fayose, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), made this declaration during a project commissioning event held on Saturday in Ado Ekiti.
The event was also attended by former governors of the state, Adeniyi Adebayo and Chief Segun Oni.In the previous Ekiti gubernatorial election, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji from the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged victorious, defeating notable opponents such as Otunba Bisi Kolawole from the PDP and Chief Segun Oni from the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
The next gubernatorial election is set for 2026.Fayose stated, “I don’t care what people say about me; I am with you. Anyone who is unhappy can take their party elsewhere.” His recent remarks, shared by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Oyebanji, have sparked considerable discussion among Nigerians on social media.
