President Bola Tinubu Begins Two-Week Leave, Not Limited to the UK – Bayo Onanuga Clarifies
Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, has addressed the growing criticism surrounding the president’s recent trip to France.Tinubu, who is currently on a two-week leave in the United Kingdom, reportedly traveled to France on Friday, which stirred reactions on social media.
According to a Saturday report ,many Nigerians voiced their concerns, questioning the president’s absence from the country during a time of national challenges.
Critics expressed frustration, calling for more transparency and accountability, while some were disappointed that the president chose to travel abroad amid economic and internal crises.
In response, Onanuga posted on X (formerly known as Twitter), defending Tinubu’s trip by stating that the president is entitled to spend his private time as he sees fit.Onanuga clarified, “President Tinubu is on a two-week leave and is not confined to the UK. It’s his personal time, and he is free to travel anywhere he wishes while on break.”
He further stressed that the president is on a well-deserved vacation and should be allowed to enjoy his private time without unnecessary scrutiny.
