HURIWA Criticizes DHQ for Remarks on Asari Dokubo

The HURIWA group criticized the military for what they see as hypocrisy, pointing out that the military invaded Nnamdi Kanu’s residence despite it not posing a significant threat to national security.
They highlighted that Asari Dokubo openly admitted to leading a private army and made threats against the Igbo people in a widely circulated video while brandishing military-grade weapons. HURIWA interpreted the Defense Headquarters’ response as an endorsement of lawlessness and impunity.
HURIWA also noted that the military appears to be treating individuals differently based on their political affiliations.
This situation raises concerns about the overall security landscape in Nigeria and the military’s reliability in upholding the law.
The group emphasized that all individuals, regardless of their background or political ties, should be treated with equal respect and dignity. In their statement, HURIWA stressed the necessity for the military to remain neutral and enforce the law without bias.
