Maguire reveals the reason behind his unsuccessful move to West Ham

The most vilified player in Manchester United, Harry Maguire has cleared the air about the possibility of him joining West Ham during the 2023 summer transfer window.
The defender was speaking in an interview while on duty with the Three Lions of England during the FIFA International break. According to him, the decision to join the Hammers never saw the day because there was no agreement between both clubs and himself.
“The actual opportunity to go to West Ham, it wasn’t agreed between both clubs and myself. West Ham are a massive club but my full focus is still on Manchester United and I want to fight for my place.”
Maguire was strongly linked with a move to the London Stadium during the summer but there were reports that the deal failed because Manchester United were not ready to pay him the desired money to terminate his contract.
He has been an integral part of the Red Devils following injuries to some of the top defenders at the club. This has allowed him to break into the club’s first team this season ( 2023/24).
