Tinubu reportedly sets to replace Security Chiefs

According to reports made available by reporters, it was said that Bola Tinubu is making arrangements for new security chiefs. []
In order to make room for their successors to move into their new homes, it was learned that the current service chiefs have prepared their notes for handing over and some have even begun packing up their official residence at Niger Barracks.
According to the reports, ” the potential officers suitable for the jobs” consult with and influence politicians, contractors, members of the president’ s family, and other senior government officials in order to further their goals.
According to sources who spoke to the reporters, it was a given that the new Chief Of Army Staff would come from the South- West because no officer from that region had held the position since Lieutenant General Ipool Alani- Akinirade did so more than 40 years ago. []
The position of Chief of Defence Staff, held by the most recent CDS, General Gabriel Olonisakin, was something the South West finally received after a long wait.
Four Major Generals from the South West, including a General Officer Commanding (GOC), are already rumored to be candidates for the position of Chief of Army Staff. One of the four candidates would be chosen to serve as Chief of Army Staff.
As the president is determined to combat oil thieves and put an end to illegal bunkering and other illegal maritime activities, it was also learned that the new Chief of Naval Staff may be from the South- South. Rear admirals from the North West are among the names that are circulating, though.
The South East is a likely region for the new Chief of Air Staff. This, it was deduced, was because the only officer in his course who was qualified for that position was a pilot and from the South East.
If the lobbying by some of the officers from that region of the country is any indication, the position of Chief of Defence Staff may also go to the South West. []
