Damilola Abdul Rasak Afolabi, professionally known as L.A.X, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter and rapper born on April 10, 1993, in Lagos State, Nigeria. He began his music journey in secondary school as part of a group called Flyboiz, and later moved to the United Kingdom to further his education while continuing to record music. L.A.X returned to Nigeria and signed with Starboy Entertainment in August 2013 following the release of the critically acclaimed single “Caro”, a collaboration with Wizkid that garnered widespread airplay. He holds a Masterβs degree from the University of Manchester, completed in 2014. Known for blending Afrobeats, Fuji, reggae, and Afropop, L.A.X has released several notable tracks including “Jaye” (feat. Ice Prince), “Ginger” (feat. Wizkid), “Morenike”, “Fine Boy” (feat. Olamide), “Sempe”, and more.
