Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo, professionally known as Kcee, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and performer born on April 18, 1979, in Aboh Mbaise, Imo State, Nigeria. He is the younger brother of businessman and music executive E-Money and is best known for his energetic blend of Afropop, highlife, and Igbo-influenced contemporary music.
Kcee first gained nationwide recognition as part of the music duo Kc Presh, winners of the inaugural season of Star Quest in 2002. After the duo disbanded, he launched a successful solo career, releasing his debut solo album Take Over in 2013.
His career reached new heights with hit singles such as Limpopo, Pull Over, Okpekete, and Ojapiano, which solidified his status as a mainstream Afropop star. In 2013, Kcee founded Five Star Music, under which he released several successful projects and nurtured other talents.
Kcee has collaborated with artists including Davido, Wizkid, Phyno, Olamide, and Flavour. Known for his flamboyant fashion style and crowd-pulling performances, he has remained relevant in Nigeriaβs fast-evolving music industry for over two decades.
Kcee continues to be celebrated for his contributions to Nigerian pop music, particularly in blending indigenous sounds with contemporary Afrobeats.
