Jesse Garba Abaga aka Jesse Jagz
Jesse Garba Abaga, professionally known as Jesse Jagz, is a Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer born on August 10, 1989, in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. He is the younger brother of renowned rapper MI Abaga and is known for his experimental sound and genre-blending approach to music.
Jesse Jagz began his career under Chocolate City, where he gained widespread recognition with his debut album Jagz of All Trades (2010). The album featured the hit single Oleku, which became a defining song of Nigerian hip-hop at the time and established him as a standout talent in the industry.
After briefly leaving Chocolate City, he released several experimental projects including Jagz Nation Vol. 1: Thy Nation Come (2013), Jagz Nation Vol. 2: Royal Niger Company (2014), and Odysseus (2016), showcasing his fusion of hip-hop, reggae, rock, EDM, and Afrocentric sounds. He later returned to Chocolate City before eventually continuing independently.
