Tobechukwu Melvin Ejiofor, professionally known as Illbliss (formerly Da IllBliss), is a Nigerian rapper, songwriter, and music executive born on October 28, 1980, in Enugu State, Nigeria. He is widely respected as one of the pioneers of indigenous rap in Nigeria, known for blending hip-hop with Igbo language and street-centric narratives.
Illbliss began his music career in the early 2000s and gained underground recognition with hard-hitting lyricism that reflected urban Nigerian realities. His breakthrough came with songs like Oga Boss and Anam Achi Kwanu, which positioned him as a leading voice in the indigenous rap movement.
He released his debut album Dat Ibo Boy in 2009, followed by notable projects such as Oga Boss, Powerful, Goretti, and Illbliss. His music is known for its honesty, cultural pride, and commentary on hustle, survival, and Nigerian society.
Beyond music, Illbliss is the founder of The Goretti Company, a creative collective and record label that has helped nurture talents like Phyno, Chidinma, DJ Neptune, and Reminisce at various stages of their careers.
