Eedris Turayo Abdulkareem Ajenifuja aka Eedris Abdulkareem
Eedris Turayo Abdulkareem Ajenifuja, known professionally as Eedris Abdulkareem, is a Nigerian hip-hop artist, songwriter, and social activist. He was born on December 24, 1974, in Kano State, Nigeria, though originally from Ilesha, Osun State.
Eedris rose to prominence in the late 1990s as a member of the Nigerian hip-hop group The Remedies, alongside Eddy Remedy and Tony Tetuila. After the group split, he launched his solo career and released his debut album P.A.S.S (Pain And Stress = Success) in 2002. His second album, Jaga Jaga (2004), became highly controversial for its critical take on corruption and poor governance in Nigeria, sparking debates nationwide.
Beyond music, Eedris is recognized for his outspoken activism and social commentary, using his songs as a platform to address political and societal issues. He is regarded as one of the pioneers of Nigerian hip-hop, influencing a generation of artists.
