William Saliba Reveals Arsenal Is His Dream Club Amid Real Madrid Interest

Arsenal’s standout defender William Saliba has reaffirmed his deep connection to the North London club, calling it his “childhood dream” despite growing speculation linking him to European giants like Real Madrid.
Since arriving at Arsenal in 2019, Saliba has developed into one of the top young defenders in world football. His composure, strength, and tactical awareness have earned him widespread praise—and the attention of clubs such as Real Madrid. But in a recent interview with Boot Room, Saliba made it clear where his heart lies.
“I have a photo where I was six years old, wearing my Arsenal jersey,” he revealed. “Yeah, my childhood dream, yeah, I love it,” he added, reflecting on how meaningful it is to now wear the shirt as a professional.
Arsenal signed the French defender from Saint-Étienne for around €30 million in 2019. However, Saliba didn’t feature for the Gunners right away, spending time on loan with Saint-Étienne, OGC Nice, and Olympique de Marseille to build his experience. Upon returning to Arsenal, he quickly became a crucial part of Mikel Arteta’s defensive setup.
Now 22, Saliba has helped reinforce Arsenal’s back line, becoming a cornerstone of the team’s recent success. With a contract that runs until 2027, the club has secured his services for the long term, even as transfer rumors continue to swirl.
Despite external interest, Saliba’s loyalty remains clear. His journey from an Arsenal-supporting child to a key figure at the Emirates is a testament to both his talent and passion for the club.
For now, Saliba is living his dream—and with each game, he continues to prove why he’s a vital part of Arsenal’s future.
