LaLiga: Deco says he won’t compare Yamal to Messi but sees him as future face of Barcelona

Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, has expressed confidence that Lamine Yamal has the potential to become a key figure and long-term leader at the club. Despite this, Deco refrained from drawing any comparisons between Yamal and Barcelona legend Lionel Messi, who was the club’s iconic figure for many years before moving to Paris Saint-Germain.

In an interview with Rac1, Deco discussed Yamal’s promising future, stating, “Lamine definitely has the ability to be a prominent player and a key figure for Barcelona for years to come. But I won’t compare him to Messi or anyone else. We’re just happy to have him here, and our focus is on supporting and nurturing his talent.”
