Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. Earns First Call-Up to Portugal’s U-15 National Team for Croatia Tournament
Cristiano Ronaldo’s eldest son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., has received his first-ever call-up to represent Portugal at the under-15 level, according to a report from ESPN on Tuesday, May 6. The 14-year-old has been named in the squad that will compete in the upcoming Vlatko Markovic youth tournament, scheduled to be held in Croatia from May 13 to 18.
As part of the U-15 team, Ronaldo Jr. is expected to play a key role as Portugal takes on top youth sides from around the world. The squad will face Japan on May 13, Greece on May 14, and England on May 16 during the group stages. The final game, set for May 18, will be based on their performance and tournament progression.
The call-up has drawn significant attention from football fans, many of whom are eager to see the son of one of the sport’s greatest icons step onto the international stage. Celebrating the moment, Cristiano Ronaldo posted a touching message on Instagram: “Orgulho em ti filho!” — Portuguese for “Proud of you, son!”
Cristiano Jr. currently plays for Al-Nassr’s academy team in Saudi Arabia, where his father has been playing since 2022. Prior to joining Al-Nassr, he spent time developing his game in the youth systems of Juventus and Manchester United — clubs where his father built his legendary career.
This milestone marks a significant step in what many hope will be a promising journey in football for the younger Ronaldo.
