Chelsea and Man Utd Given Surprise Boost in Victor Osimhen Transfer Pursuit

Chelsea and Manchester United have received an unexpected boost in their pursuit of Victor Osimhen, despite reports that his representatives have been in talks with Barcelona.
The Napoli striker, currently on loan at Galatasaray, is expected to leave Serie A permanently this summer. However, despite Osimhen’s interest in joining Barcelona, reports from El Nacional suggest that new Blaugrana boss Hansi Flick is unconvinced about his value for money. Instead, Barcelona are prioritizing moves for Newcastle’s Alexander Isak or Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres as potential replacements for Robert Lewandowski.
Meanwhile, Galatasaray, who had been linked with a permanent transfer, are now reportedly shifting their focus to AC Milan’s Alvaro Morata, making Osimhen’s move to the Premier League more likely.
With Barcelona cooling their interest, Chelsea and Man Utd now have a clearer path to sign Osimhen. Man Utd, struggling with Rasmus Hojlund’s inconsistency, are expected to make a serious attempt to bring in the Nigerian forward. Chelsea, who nearly signed Osimhen last summer, could also reignite their pursuit as they look for alternatives to Nicolas Jackson, while also monitoring Evan Ferguson and Liam Delap.
Osimhen’s €75 million release clause makes him an attractive target, and with Barcelona seemingly hesitant, Chelsea and Man Utd now have a golden opportunity to secure his signature.
